It’s been a while since I last posted here so here’s an update on what’s been going on!
This past month and a half has been a bit crazy between studying for the Praxis, a family wedding, and trying to squeeze the last bit out of summer.
Studying for the Praxis has taken up most of my time lately (read: binge watching Supernatural on Netflix). Since I took the SAT’s once and refused to ever take them again, my scores were not so hot which means that I have to take the core exams for the Praxis: writing, reading, and math. All I can think about is how much I wish I could go back in time and beat 17 year old me with an SAT prep book…
Please don’t even get me started on the actual test that truly matters…the Social Studies Content Knowledge.
The last few weekends of summer were spent trying to enjoy it as much as possible! There were a few fishing trips with friends and family. It was nice, relaxing, and fruitful! Both times we went out on the boat, we did not go into the ocean. When it’s 8 in the morning on a Saturday and boats are still at the docks, it’s a bad sign. When you’re driving out towards the ocean and you’re seeing boats come in from the ocean, it’s an even worse sign.
Especially when you see the bigger fishing boats coming in from the ocean…
Instead, we fished around in the river and I caught my first fluke!!! All the times that I’ve been fishing, I’ve never caught one. I’ve caught everything else under the sun except a damn fluke. See picture below of me proudly holding my catch.
The second time we went out, we went crabbing. Dina and I hit the jackpot. The ladies caught dinner that day.
Family weddings are usually something to look forward or something to dread. For me, I love my family and I love being with them. I always look forward to opportunities to spend time together. My beautiful cousin, Meghan, got married this past weekend down in the Baltimore area. Post to come later about our long weekend adventure in Baltimore and Washington D.C.
Here’s a pretty picture of Peach!
