Life in the Meow takes on PopSugar's 2016 Reading Challenge

Scrolling through my Facebook feed the other day, I noticed an awesome challenge posted by PopSugar. It’s the best sort of challenge as it involves reading.

Which, I’m pretty great at. Anyone who knows me, knows that my books are my babies (second to my cats).

Last year didn’t involve much reading at all. I mostly caught up on some series that I hadn’t read in a while-like all of my crazy vampire romance novels that I read in high school because I was a die-hard…twi-hard. For those who don’t know what a twi-hard is…it’s those psycho fan-girls (and boys) who are a wee bit obsessed with the Twilight series.

Like this one time, I betrayed my mother’s strict orders to NOT go into the city with my girlfriend by ourselves at 15 years old so we could meet Stephenie Meyer.

Proof with a grainy photo:

Go ahead and laugh while I hang my head in shame.

This challenge though from PopSugar involves 40 different reading tasks/categories including reading a book you can finish in a day, a book published this year, and a book recommended by someone you just met.

I see the reading challenge as an excellent way to sort of veer from my typical literary genres and explore. I have some books laid out already for what I’m hoping to read, but we’ll see where it takes me!

You can click this link to find the 2016 Reading Challenge.

Here are some of my anticipated reads:
-Book set in your home state: “The Sacrifice” by Joyce Carol Oates
-Book translated in English: “The Count of Monte Cristo” by Alexandre Dumas
-New York Times Bestseller: “The Girl on the Train” by Paula Hawkins

-Book becoming a movie this year: “Me Before You” by Jojo Moyes

Follow my literary adventure on my Instagram, Twitter, and of course, here!

Are you going to participate? I’d love to hear what task you are looking forward to completing the most! Comment below!
